Donations from our tremendous supporters, whether from fundraising or bequests allow us to support scientists in their vital work. Without either of these groups, we would not be able to advance the lot of people with Lewy body dementia. Thank you.

We are delighted to announce there will be a Lewy Body Society grant round in early 2026.

A key part of our role is funding research into Lewy body dementia in order to better understand and treat the disease, in the hope of one day finding a cure for this terrible and much misunderstood condition.

When we posted these graphics explaining the differences between Lewy body dementia and Alzheimer's previously, they provoked a huge response. It may have been one of our most popular posts.

It is sad but true that people still hear dementia and only think Alzheimer's.

There are many forms of the disease, all with varying symptoms and progressions. Diagnosis matters. Knowing the difference will help people connect the dots so they can advocate for themselves

Every day on our social media pages, we see carers lifting each other up.

At the Lewy Body Society, we took over 1,000 calls last year from families of people with Lewy body dementia, listening and signposting carers to help and support.

A Hidden Dementia
Lewy body dementia is not always recognised - even by medical professionals.

All week, we have been receiving messages from people who were told originally they had a different kind of dementia, or something else entirely, before they finally got the correct diagnosis.
