At last night’s Southend City Council 2025 Budget meeting, I pushed for more tree planting and sustainable drainage in upcoming footway repairs.
More trees = cleaner air, cooler streets & a healthier environment. 🌿 Plus, modern drainage is a must to tackle flooding! 🌧️

Food Banks do indeed seem to have been entirely normalised. They are not normal. A Labour government should at least be having the aspiration to send them back to pre-Tory levels.

Ableds are going to have to get over the wishful thinking that assisted dying systems are rigorous, or at least see that even if they are, in the absence of proper supports for disabled people and better cultural attitudes about disability, they still constitute coercion.
