I also want to say: I get frustrated when people say that folks who leave the country should "stay and fight." People have always fled authoritarian regimes--from Tsarist Russia to Francoist Spain and beyond--and continued to fight from outside. This is part of the struggle.

The fact that scholars of fascism and anti-fascism have been leaving the country -- now including Mark Bray fleeing death threats -- should be a huge wake up call to the American public. They more than anyone know the warning signs and the direction we seem to be headed.

Rabin heeft gezegd: wat de Palestijnen kunnen krijgen is (zijn letterlijke woorden ) "less than a state". Rabin gunde de Palestijnen een zelfbesturend reservaat, een soort provinciebestuur met beperkte bevoegdheden, gedemilitariseerd (terwijl Israël tot de tanden bewapend bleef). Geen staat.

Ik ben al over op duckduckgo, en ik ben niet het soort type dat beter-voor-de-wereld-software snel verkiest boven maximaal-efficiente-en-frictieloze-software. Maar deze AI zoek-results zijn zo fxked voor het klimaat, de kwaliteit van (onderliggende) bronnen en voor de kwaliteit vh zoekresultaat.

Sophie Scholl was a member of White Rose, an anti-Nazi group at the university of Munich. She was murdered by the Nazi regime (for treason) on 22 February, 1943 She was only 21 years old

Noch VS, noch Israël, noch Hamas roepen: het is vrede. Trump komt in de buurt van zoiets, maar de andere twee weten wel beter. Misschien komt er een wapenstilstand, als de Israëlische regering vanavond tenminste voor stemt.

Intussen gaan de aanvallen in wat lager tempo gewoon door.

Dat is nooit anders geweest. D66 is altijd primair een partij voor ondernemers en topmanagers geweest, beetje linksig als de tijdgeest er om vraagt, gewoon rechts nu de wind uit die hoek zo sterk is. D66 als linkse partij was altijd gezichtsbedrog.

Maar je kunt niet voor een tweestatenoplossing zijn en tegelijk echt vrede willen. Dat was in 1994 al een beetje naief, maar het is nu totaal ondenkbaar. Palestina wordt vrij, of er komt geen vrede, hooguit tijdelijke berusting-in-onderwerping.
