Transforming green spaces in Englefield Green, Surrey, UK into biodiversity havens 🐝, fostering community impact 🤝 & creating beautiful areas for local people and wildlife. 🌱🧡🌳
Look who we spotted amid the wildflowers we planted on the Green today. We think it's a Lychnis moth caterpillar - a great sign that our beautiful flowers are supporting more biodiversity. Lychnis caterpillars thrive in red campion, and we have introduced lots of it! #urbannature

Did you know that the centres of forget-me-nots turn from yellow to white when they've been pollinated? #bees #pollinators #flowers

BUNDLE! 🐦 During the winter months Wrens are known to roost communally to maximise body temperature and stay warm during chilly nights, sometimes over a dozen birds at a time. Snuggly. 🤗

Just some of the wildflowers we've been growing from seed over the winter to plant out on verges around the village. 🐝🌷#bees #pollinators #urbanwildlife #nature

A few bumble bees are coming out but it's still chilly. This one is having a little sip of sugar water and warming up indoors. #bees

Took some time out with this incredible oak today- perhaps 800 years old? So much wildlife is sustained by a single tree. We should cherish them! #nature #trees #conservation

Sharing information with community members about the impact of pesticides and herbicides is part of our mission at EGT. #Bees #pollinators #nature
Please say no to pesticides and herbicides. Cocktails of these chemicals in fields, gardens, parks, verges, community spaces are poisoning wildlife including bees, birds, hedgehogs, butterflies, beetles, frogs, damselflies, and polluting our rivers. Let's give nature a chance 🐝

Day 6 of the 2024 #dragonfly #AdventCalendar. Hairy Dragonfly is quite localised in the UK but spreading. It's the first of the really large ones to emerge. This one at Wiltshire Wildlife Trust Lower Moor Farm in May. #DragonflyAdventCalendar #invertebrates #ukwildlife
