1429) Vonbot. Mysterious European aristocratbot who's very keen to have you for dinner in its unnecessarily large gothic mansion. #SmallRobotsRemonstered #Halloween
An ovoid robot with banded arms and legs and an antenna. It's wearing a dark, high-collared cape with a scalloped hem, and its antenna has little bat wings on it. It's holding a Winebot filled with dark liquid, which is smiling evilly. Vonbot itself is extending one arm towards the frame, has a raised eyebrow and a crooked smile that reveals two small fangs. Vonbot isn't casting a shadow, but the Winebot is.

It was worth seeing. And I can report that the sparkly orange jumper is adorable and high quality — just like the album.https://www.wsj.com/arts-culture/music/taylor-swift-has-a-hit-with-release-party-of-a-showgirl-fc99b7da

Saw the TS movie! Fate of Ophelia is incredible!

Taylor has single-handedly made Shakespeare cool again — especially his great tragic-romantic heroines Juliet and Ophelia — and given multiple generations around the world the gift of loving/learning about the power of the greatest dramatic poetry. www.washingtonpost.com/entertainmen...
Taylor Swift keeps borrowing Shakespeare. These experts approve.
Swift’s new single, “The Fate of Ophelia,” references the famed character, who went mad and drowned. We asked some scholars for their take.

My hot take on ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ is that it’s her anti-hot-take album, deliberately returning TS’s audience back to her roots in country, folklore, literature, storytelling & romance, via a joyful cathartic retelling of her life. The Fate of Ophelia is the best track, but it’s an epic album.

To preempt the uproar about TS’s ‘Actually Romantic’, I remind the gentle reader that diss tracks have been an honorable trope of feminist writing since at least 1792, when Wollstonecraft quoted Barbauld twice in a footnote then indicated the moral contradiction between the poems’ views of women.

True. But Wollstonecraft had loads of wit and irony in her version of 18th-c rights-based liberal democracy.

This Frankenstein wine has a mixed-up body, fruity and earthy notes, an astringent base, and a finish of existential despair…

Adventures of philosophy mom (a return to the beginning):

10yo son: Mom, don’t you teach women’s rights at Notre Dame?
Mom: yes, why do you ask?
10yo son: (with pride) my new swim coach—she swam at Notre Dame.

Getting lots of positive feedback on the Frankenbogg. An elementary school student stopped me today, saying, ‘Nice bag’! Who said we can’t unite around something positive in this country?
