I log on every 6 months or so to find a text-based answer to something. Find the answer/opinion/experience. Browse for two minutes. Immediately regret that decision, then log off for 6 months 😆

My friends and I used to play WWE Smackdown on PS1 and 2. We all had a stable of created characters. We would regularly provide our own commentary, doing impressions of Harry Carey, Christopher Walken, Al Pacino. Wonderful times. I wish I'd thought of Mr. Herzog at the time!

You hit on something else. Generationally, songwriters will tap into a zeitgeist that exists in that snapshot in time. Those who come after might never fully understand it. I've tried and failed to get into Neil Young many times for example.

There's no such thing as "the greatest" when it comes to art, esp something as subjective as lyrics

If someone tells me they think Taylor's the greatest, I believe them. That's their opinion. If someone thinks Dylan, Cohen, Willie, John and Paul, whoever? I believe them. They are sharing opinions.
