i think the twist villain in zootopia 2 actually works because the character in question does actually tell judy their motivation up front but in sort of a throwaway line so as not to give the twist away. it's still kinda predictable but it doesn't come out of left field like hans or bellwether.

A coworker of mine was complaining the other day about how movies have gotten worse recently and cited Superman as an example. Said it was "too comedic". Asked them if they actually watched it, to which they said "no but I've seen clips online". Why are you judging it then.

I'm rewatching A New Hope for the first time in a while and man I can't get over both how much of the worldbuilding was already in just this first movie and also how corny everything is. Like, the visuals are dated and the dialogue is cheesy but damn is it all charming as hell.

We took a detour through some Cross Worlds recently, but now we're back in Hyrule playing more Breath of the Wild! Come on down to my Twitch page to join in the chill vibes as we work on some shrines and sidequests!
My hot take is that The Wizard of Oz (1939) is the most overrated movie of all time.
Like, it's fine. It was a technological marvel for its time, and that's not nothing. But everyone puts it up on a pedestal when it just isn't as good as the book it's based on.

I can't stop thinking about del Toro's Frankenstein. The way it portrays the Creature as not a shambling corpse, but a person. The way Elizabeth feels real empathy for the Creature. The way Victor's life falls apart not because of the Creature, but his own hubris.
