Over the next six years, Oregon could lose roughly $12 billion in federal health insurance funding and an additional $2 billion-plus in food benefits as a result of the massive Trump budget bill.

“I could … but we have lawyers who don’t want to do that.”

This means nothing less than the Trump Administration is in open defiance of the Supreme Court of the United States.
Host: You could call and get Abrego Garcia back.

Trump: I could

Host: But the Supreme Court has ordered you to facilitate his release.

Trump: I'm not the one making this decision

Host: You're the president!

The administration is removing phone support for Soc Security recipients. Making it more difficult for seniors to get their checks. It’s a back door way to cut SS benefits. Horrific.

If you know anyone who is impacted, please help them get online to get their benefits approved

Modern day book burning doesn't involve books. It is the mass deletion of scientific websites. It is the algorithms that block access to ideas that don't align with the new authoritarian regime. Modern day book burning happens in the darkness of the Internet, without witnesses, and without fanfare.

repeating myself a bit here but trump can issue an executive order but that doesn’t necessarily mean shit if it doesn’t have a firm statutory basis. if congress lays out in law what the duties of a particular official are, then no, the president can’t decide those duties are something else
Trump official announces that Trump has signed an executive order claiming that only the president can speak for “what the law is”
