Howdy to yet another platform. Wonder how many this makes sense I started tinkering with computers in the BBS and dial-up days.

I work with Industrial IoT and am into skiing, bicycling, concerts, walking, backpacking, kettlebells, cooking, and good urban planning.

We also live in Colorado -- a place with a lot of winding roads and a lot of extreme weather. I've found those tools to be useful and work well on long, straight, boring road stretches like I-70 across Kansas and 285 between Bailey and Buena Vista.

This is Misty. She ate an entire corn cob. To survive, Misty needed emergency surgery to remove it. We were able to cover that thanks to a donation from Vital Farms. Because of them, Misty made it through surgery and now has more plushies than she knows what to do with ❤️‍🩹

The really nice thing is that you don't get on the mailing list of all the non-profits. They just get a nice big boost of cash and can get on with their work!

Every month the crew at @nexton9news.bsky.social find wonderful Colorado non-profits to boost that otherwise might not have any fundraising abilities or media attention. I've been donating monthly since Jan 2024--I love how easy it is to be part of and appreciate their work finding these great orgs.

I had to remove Instagram from my phone this week. It's just been too overwhelming. I miss seeing friend's photos. Viral political stuff is so exhausting and it's just the same things over and over again. Is there nowhere to turn for just social photos?
