PREGNANT WOMEN WHO MADE HISTORY. This week I thought, what the heck – one of the great things studying history can do is make you realise that you are never alone; that no problem is new. Powerful women, this one’s for you.

Protest in Britain has never been more important. Here’s a surprising history of naked protest, which will make you think twice about who protests, and why.

Not the start to my debut book I had nightmared of, but the silver lining is to have been supported by other writes and literary people throughout. Thank you. 🧡

There was a long lived Heron at Kew National Archives, named Herod. It would guard the entrance for years, died ~3 years ago. Named Herod by the archivists for the ducklings it would eat every spring 😬

My plans for a major retail emporium are being threatend by wholesalers who won't let me steal the stock.
A headline from The Times, with Nick Clegg saying that requiring permission from copyright holders to train AI on their word would 'kill' the AI industry. Boo fecking hoo.

Please join this vigil and readings for Alaa Abd el-Fattah on Thurs 22nd May outside Downing Street. The situation is critical - the UK Government need to do all they can, urgently, to free Alaa.

Alaa Abd el-Fattah completed his unjust five-year prison sentence last September. Yet seven months later, he remains in prison.

Join us for a vigil in support of Alaa and his mother Laila Soueif, both currently on hunger strike. #FreeAlaa

Every year, my church does a 4 day walking pilgrimage from Trafalgar Square to Canterbury Cathedral. I'm only walking one day of it this time, but I am raising money to help the homeless in London, in aid of The Connection, St Martin's homelessness charity.
