One cool thing about me is that if you Google my name, the first photo that comes up is this stupid meme I made of myself a couple of years ago.

Another cool thing about me is that yesterday I Googled myself. #ThisIsFine

Experts feared it would take 193 years to reduce London's deadly levels of NO₂ air pollution to legal levels.

This week Mayor Sadiq Khan announced his team had defied the howls of pro-fossil fuel and motoring lobbyists to achieve the life-saving target in just 9 YEARS.

Here's how they did it 🧵

🟢 We’ve described Green to Grey as a ‘first of its kind’ data investigation. That’s a big claim – so, let us explain what we mean.

The data methodology process for measuring nature loss across Europe is fascinating — but complex, and most of us are not data specialists! 🧵👇 [1/3]

Our paper on clusters of schools across the UK is out.

We find five clusters: multi-racial & super-diverse middle & working-class schools of towns & cities, suburban white middle class schools, established elite schools & (post-)industrial white working class schools.

💚 #GreenToGrey has got to be the biggest project I've worked on, not only geographically, but in level of revelation, clarity and potential impact. So you know it's got a good behind the scenes story...

My piece on how @journalismarena.eu makes this happen:

Arena’s ‘Green to Grey’ project reveals scale of Europe’s nature loss
Our collaboration with 11 newsrooms shows Europe’s undeveloped land is disappearing up to 1.5 times faster than previously thought, equivalent to 600 football pitches per day.

Arena's major new investigation spans 11 countries, 10 months and millions of m² to reveal the scale of nature and cropland loss across Europe for the first time 👇

💚 This is the largest scale project I've worked on. Find out how to get involved (you can!) at the 'About' page: greentogrey.eu

🚨 NEW: By the end of this video, Europe will have lost 2850m² of land to construction. That’s almost half a Premier League football pitch.

This rate of loss, amounting to 600 football pitches a day, is 1.5 times higher than official EEA estimates.

This is the #GreenToGrey project. [1/3]

But the UK — and other countries — have stopped the far right in its tracks in the recent past. Here’s how 🧵
