I wrote about US new power plant additions in the first half of the year, and what's on tap between now and 2030. If I had to some this up in three words, they'd be: solar, batteries, Texas.

Big wind/solar changes in final Senate bill:
- no excise tax on wind/solar
- bill sets a commence construction deadline for wind/solar projects that start within a year of bill enactment. Those projects get full tech-neutral credit for 1 year, and are spared the 2027 placed in service deadline
