U.S. greenhouse gas emissions rose by 2.4% in 2025, ending a two-year decline. The uptick is driven partly by AI data centers' energy demands and rising natural gas prices.

There were 23 billion-dollar weather and climate disasters in the US in 2025.

And we only know this because @climatecentral.org hired the NOAA employee who led this vital tracking effort, which was decommissioned by the administration last spring.

Lake Manly is back!

Several inches of water have formed in Badwater Basin, the lowest point in North America, following Death Valley’s wettest fall on record. During the Ice Ages, the basin held a lake with depths of up to 700 feet.
