sometimes people take specific Dems doing dumb things as a pretext to impugn all of liberalism but I really do think this points to a crisis of principles in the mid-to-upper levels of the caucus

We can't stop being the Mom Party, and any attempt will be read as false, but if the Republicans are becoming the Divorced Dad Party, maybe we can become the Strong Single Mom Party.

they didn't drop SMU from last in to first out last year, and that kept Bama out of the field. I think Bama falls one spot, and honestly two is more likely than not, but it is about 50/50 to me. (honestly "they'd probably smoke Miami" is a bit of an elephant in the room here)

They'll shuffle people around but they set a pretty strong statement last year that losing close in your CCG won't knock you out of the field. Bama getting clocked makes their case a bit more dicey but IU is obviously #1.

Mind you they don’t learn our own history, in which Southern secessionists were fully convinced the north was effeminate, soft, and would not even resist their blowing up the country.
