2025: the year in scandalous #books, particularly #memoirs. As long as major #authors with major book deals with major #publishing houses keep writing these things, I'll keep posting about them. Cheers! www.bbc.com/culture/arti...
The Salt Path and 2025's most scandalous books
In 2025, personal stories proved popular and powerful – but several controversies raised questions about the future of the memoir genre.

Posting what I hope is a thread here about the Capitulation Broadcasting System and #BariWeiss, who is a pretty sorry excuse for a #journalist and I should know, I was often called one myself. All's I can say is if I did the crap she does, I'd be fired. Edward R. Murrow, Fred Friendly, roll over.
She really tried to explain away this decision with “gotta hear both sides”. Phenomenally stupid and useless person.
The full Weiss memo is dogshit
-who cares if administration figures “regret” sending people to CECOT
-who cares about the criminal histories of the people we sent to CECOT, we sent them to a torture prison
—who cares about the “debate” over the legality of sending people to a torture prison

So here's some very bad behavior I missed when it was originally reported in June 2025 about a certain #writer. Not news, but still shocking. Because I am so easily shocked and refuse to surrender my naivete because that way leads to trouble. #writinglife #authors share.google/qZZbvJMNS6gt...

Meanwhile at the Capitulation Broadcasting System......
Trump's capture of the CBS mainstream media is complete.

CBS News pulled a “60 Minutes” report about the Trump administration sending detainees to a maximum security “mega prison” in El Salvador just hours before its scheduled broadcast Sunday.

CBS postpones '60 Minutes' story on Trump deportees at the last minute
The broadcaster said Sunday that the segment would be aired at a future date, a move that drew criticism from the correspondent behind the reporting.

So the #EpsteinFiles release turns out to be a #coverup, etc etc etc. We used to call this obstruction of justice, and it was an impeachable, criminal offense. Oh Hell what do I know. Only the past. Only the past.

I wonder if Trump's attacks on women #journalists is a sign of encroaching dementia. This is not an excuse for his behavior. But it's been my experience that when people become senile, have hardening of the arteries, or Alzheimer's, or any age-related cognitive decline, they get mean. Or meaner.
"You are terrible!— I didn’t say that. You said that! This is ABC fake news.”

Trump reverses and crashes out on ABC’s Rachel Scott after she asks him about 2nd-strike footage he said he’d have ‘no problem’ releasing.

Inside job? Ok, but who was on the inside on January 6, 2021? Just wonderin'.
The most interesting part of this story isn’t that the pipe bomber is MAGA. That was blatantly obvious. What should interest folks is that the FBI and DoJ hid that fact from you, and still haven’t made a statement. This info is coming from sources on the condition of anonymity.
And there's the motive.
