The Manuscript of the Week is RIA MS B ii 1, an Astronomical Tract. It is an Irish translation of medieval Latin texts. The astronomical tract is based on a medieval Latin version of a work by Messahalah, a Jew of Alexandria who wrote in Arabic c. 815.

Just harvested some organic flat leaf parsley seeds - I haven’t bought a plant in years. I just let them go to seed when the time comes - they self-propogate readily & it is also easy to grow extra plants from seed 🌱

Have been really enjoying the Siem Estella conference - focusing on multilingualism & identities in early medieval west. I’ve learned so much & Estella-Lizarra is an incredible venue (tho’ very warm for an Irish person like me!)
