And finally, Dispatch wins the award of the biggest surprise. I really didn't expect it'd be that good. It's the award of "pop corn done right", but once in a while I love that. Also, very relatable characters.

Fun, smart, deep, moving, Wednesdays gets the award of the best "game that will change you". It'll stay forever and made me different.

Beautiful and poetic, Many Nights a Whisper gets the "Best game as a poem" award. Also, there's a braid of hair glory hole in the game, isn't that unique?

I didn't play Shinobi yet, but Ninja Gaiden Ragebound deserves credits for being great at everything it does. "Best 90's arcade vibe" for sure.

Consume Me gets the "best humour" and "smartest minigames that makes you feel something subtle".

Promise Mascot Agency wins the "most comforting and chill doudou game". I loved my time in this world, would 100% recommend when you need an escape break.

Before the game awards deliver an absolute verdict, here are some games I played this year and really deserve recognition in my opinion.

Best "non consensual game design approach", Baby Steps.
Really a unique game, both hilarious and enraging. 200% edgy.

The movies I went to see in the theater this year.
First line strongly recommended, all great!

Il y a quelques semaines j'ai participé à une table ronde avec des gens très bien, sur le sujet du réalisme dans le jeu vidéo, et c'était stimulant :)

Went to see Arco yesterday, and it's fantastic. Highly recommended.

Dispatch has a brillant visualization of "random(a-b)".
a is the skill required for succeeding in the mission.
b is the skills your assigned heroes have.
The success or failure depends of hockey puck bouncing within the superposed shapes. If it ends in your skill shape, mission is a success!

It's powerful, it's moving, it's short, it's fun, it's important and it's... FREE.

Children rights day giveaway is a great time to play this gem (one of my GOTY for sure).

Finished Baby Steps.
18h total but 5 hours alone on these 30 meters (the train wagons). Probably the biggest test of perseverance in my gamer’s life (with those 12h spent on sekiro’s final boss?)

I love that someone in a meeting about how the chat feature in gmail suggested to add a little waving hand icon to attract users attention, and it got approved. "Good idea John!"

I've rewatched Working Girl (1988) recently and I'm still thinking about those haircuts...

That moment in Baby Steps was really intense. We got tears of stress & relief when passing it with my daughter.

Today's reco: "Consume Me", which won the IGF grand prize.
Everything in the game reinforces the concept. Mini games are really simple but make you feel in character. Brilliantly written. Great music mood. Extremely fun and well presented. 👍👍👍

It's out, the new comic book - "bédé" as we say in French - from @mathieubablet.bsky.social.
The librarian told me it's fantastic 🤩
I know what I'm reading tonight.

Only the few people who have extensively played these two niche game can understand, but imagine... what if a new "Toe Jam & Earl" game was made, but with "Baby Steps", character controller? That would be absolutely insane. I would love to make such a game. Coop-funkotronic roguelite.

Your swordtober pics inspired my daughter and my to try! Was very fun :) Thx!

I went to see the movie adaptation from Japanese indie game Exit 8. I really liked it!
It's weird, scary, with impressive camera direction and picture.
Game design-wise, I love that it's a game/movie based only on a toddler's game (7 differences) (cc @randotwino.bsky.social)
