1) you are the audience, giving it prompts
2) it produces things roughly shaped like your prompt
3) it is trained to respond with Yes, And
4) it has the factual accuracy of improv
5) it does not understand comedy

(Takes a look around after a long absence) Right, so, looks like the same old thing: reply guys, people discussing v. serious shit, people being ridiculous and funny, people on their very niche subject. The occasional good meme. It's all mixed up like some kind of weird garbage plate.

Remember when Milli Vanilli happened and then it turned out they could sing ok and ppl were like “wut” and they were like “I dunno we feel bad” and now the whole government and all of commercial industry are unapologetic scams to get you to buy bets on, say, whether your neighbors will starve.

I considered writing a long carefully constructed argument laying out the harms and limitations of AI, but instead I wrote about being a hater. Only humans can be haters.

I don't like it here and now everyone arrived and is leaving again because these things suck. I know Mastodon is a ghost town but that's because you tried it for 5 seconds and left. At least it isn't owned by the usual shitty people. I'm old and have been through too many of these things.
