Actually, they "exist" to uphold the US Constitution, which they take an oath to. They don't exist to "defeat America's enemies" as that is the responsibility of the Military, who also take an oath to the Constitution. Granted both examples probably never read it, and most would not understand it...

We know the Trump Admin is all too comfortable lying to Americans, which is why we need more details and a full, independent investigation into what happened instead of taking their word for it.
