Had a go at a sketch tutorial for bodies I did back when I just started studying drawing. Quite proud of it though I rushed a bit and I’m not sure why the body proportions feel off even when I try to fix it but it’s definitely

I don’t see my characters as being live action. I see my stories as animated. Something like The Mighty Nein, Invincible, Pantheon. That’s why my stories always have a slight ridiculous edge. Because animation would carry that better.

Remember your favorite creator possibly might be struggling with imposter syndrome and doubt and this timeline sucks.. so if you find yourself thinking “wow I really relate to this persons work” or that persons work gives you joy, you should probably tell them. It’s a hard time to be a creative.

My MC was the villain all along and didn’t tell me until I was 50% into the draft. So now at least I get to introduce a chosen one to stop her, except the MC is just gonna corrupt the poor naive cinnamon roll

I have done it (it being the first draft of a bonus short story. In the All Vamps, No Stakes world). Anyone want to beta read a super weird story? Like zero draft crazy?

Writing is hard work.
Writers should be able to make a living even if they don't have a full time staff position.
Authors especially should be able to make a living off their books they've sweat and toiled for.
All of this shows further why our capitalist system is unsustainable and unjust.

At this time a year ago I was at about the same place as I am now with my two manuscripts that I half wrote in the spring. I need to get on with them!
at this time a year ago, having just sent my editor (at last)(after two deadline extensions) a full manuscript (and having told her she didn't even need to read it bc I'd just had An Idea), I sat in this coffee shop and started drafting the version of THE LORD OF THE WOOD that's finally going to pub

Ok. I feel better now (after yesterdays shit show) tried to practice the stylisation and the simpler features. While keeping the essence of the character. This is the first time I’ve stylised from a photo ref (inc)
