“Dominic LeBlanc seemed to suggest Tuesday … that Ottawa is prepared to trade away tariff relief for “a partnership in terms of energy” with the United States.”
Call it what it is: Deeper integration. Closer ties. Less independence. With an unreliable partner that no longer respects the rule of law.
Althia Raj: Mark Carney, Donald Trump put on a show of affection in Oval Office trade talks, but no real progress announced
The Liberals won the last election on one premise — Canada strong, a country less dependent on the United States, in terms of its security and its economy. But early signs from Tuesday’s White House v...

Finally, a score that should make the Jays comfortable. They're down one! Victory is assured!

It all comes down to this statistically definitive prediction.

Jays scoring has gone 2 0 4 0 over the first 4 innings, so in the top of the 5th they will score 8 runs.

If a game is needed tomorrow, we're stuck with a bullpen game instead of having Bassitt available, because.... why again?

The ludicrous MLB video replay system actually benefits the Jays for once. Oof.

I'd prefer Barger in the lineup.

He asbilolutely did NOT campaign on everything he's doing now.

He clearly campaigned on everything he’s doing now, & was elected. If he had majority, I’d complain. He doesn’t. And it’s not like he didn’t get a majority because he wasn’t “left enough”. The other party’s electors wanted something much worse! Carbon tax was extremely unpopular. Stupid, but it was.

Buck blaming Bieber? Dude hit it 6 inches off the ground. This is on the error.

It's the job of a politician to represent and lead. If we should just run everything based on polls, what do we need elected representatives for?
marythemuser.bsky.social
How exactly a “politician” can go against the public opinion? It’s in the job description! I don’t understand. Majority right now are stupid and aren’t worried about the future of their kids. How can a “politician” go against that? It’s the job of the elected to do what they’re elected for.

No. I think it's completely besides the point, which is to 1) do our part, and 2) have any moral authority to convince other countries to do theirs.

Wait, what???

Does he even have any climate policies? And now he’s complimented Smith on forcing people into involuntary treatment. We’re f’ked.

Surprised to see you of all people parrot this Conservative talking point.

And if Canada immediately shut-in its production of fossil fuels, what would that do for climate change?

Sad to say: nothing. Because the global oil market is dominated by a cartel that holds spare production at the ready to manage prices.

Carney's climate policies are neither perfect nor good, they're just bad.
maxfawcett.bsky.social
Sure. Democracy is messy and complicated and we're often forced to choose between imperfect outcomes and lesser evils.

But perfect remains the enemy of good.
