Their plan is to never create any legislation related to healthcare, and to fight anyone who does, and they're succeeding.

I’m a Big Ten fan, but if this gets blocked by the Securities and Exchange Commission, I’ll gladly chant, "SEC! SEC! SEC!"

I've wondered this for a while: why don't blue states band together and provide healthcare for their citizens? Start off with NY, CA and IL and then have state legislatures vote into the system? This seems so much more realistic than change at a national level.

DEI and White House deals to lower drug prices are two sides of the same coin. Corporations do these things strategically to protect their profits. Politicians are afraid of legislation so they treat these corporate choices like meaningful public policy decisions.

Has anyone thought about turning schools into vacuums so guns can't fire? Probably worth a consideration based on this definitely true information.

Nobody is actually doing anything to give people hope. Why not be cynical? This isn't a Christmas movie where Santa only exists if you believe in him. I'll stop being cynical when a politician gives me a real reason to hope that my children will actually have a better life.

Irvine Welsh complaining about neoliberalism (if only for a brief second) is something I could inject into my old veins every single day.

Aren't Republican voters tired of these made-for-TV investigations? It's just one after another for decades now, with literally nothing to show for it. When was the last indictment from a Republican-led investigation? Jack Abramoff and Bob Ney (a Republican...) in 2006?

Someone convince Trump to sign an executive order requiring all USMNT players to be from red states.

I'm old enough to remember when the existence of tanks in the US was considered by some to be evidence that Obama was confiscating all the guns.

I guess his breakdown may not be as relevant. Standard Palatine conspiracy fueled by fear, distrust and ambition. The drama and ego was more of a daily thing though, like all this BS.

Commodus. Liked to be seen as a god while living. Had statues of himself made to look like Hercules. Was known for stupid public spectacles more than governance. Even tried to rename Rome after himself (Colonia Commodiana).

Same reason Republican politicians won't say anything negative about pharma or insurance companies.

Let's be honest. Many of the people involved in this are right-wing crazies. They might claim that his previous DEI support or antisemitism were the real issue, but it's simply too ironic in this instance that a qualified minority candidate was turned down by an overwhelmingly white group of voters.

He was a qualified candidate but in the end he just wasn't the white fit.
