See that small, moving splotch?

That's 3I/ATLAS, a comet that formed in a different star system, photographed from Mars orbit by the ESA Exomars Trace Gas Orbiter.

... Which is fine if the AI gets the question correct.
mrcfmaths.bsky.social
This has forced my y11s who I've had since y8 to at least write down all theb working stages from AI so if they are using it at least they're writing examples down...
All their homework is now 50+ mins with videos being watched etc.

I like that - What's the poem?
mrcfmaths.bsky.social
They also all have a poem I got Chat GPT to write about the futility of using AI to do homework stuck in their honework books on the front cover.
enceemaths.bsky.social
#MathsToday I had to talk to students (again) about why trusting AI to do their homework is not a good idea. 2nd time I have caught it out in a week.
#Maths teachers using online hwk platforms, what do you do about this?

Saturn, rising behind its largest moon Titan.

This scene is a composite of images taken by the Cassini spacecraft on 31 March 2005. At the time, Cassini was 7,000 km from Titan and 1.2 million km from Saturn.

Credit: NASA/JPL/SSI/Ian Regan/Val Klavans
In the foreground is Saturn's giant moon Titan, its hazy, peach-coloured atmosphere extending into space. Behind is Saturn itself, its upper hemisphere crossed by the shadows of its vast ring system.

This is a real image of what a new solar system looks like.

The light from the central star is blocked, so it's possible to see the lanes of cleared-up dust around it.

And that small, yellowish blob at lower right?

That's a whole, brand new planet.

MATHS TEACHERS: If you’re seeking ways to add quirky ‘real world’ maths to lessons next year I’ve updated my blog index robeastaway.com/blog/blog-in... .
You can use it to find odd applications of (say) quadratic equations. It’s the sort of thing you might use as a lesson starter (1/3) #TMiP25

Someone in comments (and now I can't find the actual comment, sorry) said the best Star Wars trilogy is now Andor, Rogue One and Star Wars Ep 4, and you know what, I'm here for that argument, call it the "Death Star Trilogy"

Finished this last night. Very quirky crime novel, continuing the misadventures of Gary Thorne. Nothing quite like these, I could see these being turned into some sort of BBC2 comedy thriller. More interesting than reading yet another cosy crime book. #BookSky

Now reading. I loved the first one, as quirky as you'd expect. Hard not to read this and hear Bob Mortimer's voice in your head. #BookSky
