I write enterprise software you don't need to care about and stuff about tech and politics you won't read because it's in Romanian.
I hate Scott Snyder because he's so mid and over his head 90% of the time, but he still manages to hit some really high notes that nobody does anymore.

Keep thinking about Final Crisis.

Morrison's the only that ever seemed to get that Darkseid isn't the kind of elemental evil he proclaims himself to be, but a literalization of the Negative dialectics.

Randomly searched for myself on Google Scholar and apparently I'm a very minor authority on the historiography of superhero comics.

Playing Nier Replicant and I feel I stumbled on a missing link between the older Zeldas, Ico/Shadow of the Colossus and Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom.

There should be an award for managing to show your ass in such a way. That "epistemological break" sentence is work of art for how many subjects the guy displays basically no understing of.

The level of discourse happening on Twitter. This is so depressing.

Because outside genre conventions în recent mass media, the translation technically works, especially given the context of its usage. The problem is narrowing it to mean only alien-related stuff and deploying it outside the specific context of the series.

Young Maximortal is the best superhero comic I've read in the past couple of years. Was expecting only a nostalgic retread of the revisionist 80s comics I loved as a teenager, but it's much more tempered and bitter and weirdly materialist.

Does Scott McCloud namesearch himself? I've made this biophysicist quite upset by saying that McCloud's way of systematizing comics connotes a hierarchy of values that McCloud himself would be too polite as a person to actually state.

Hard not to read Promethea as Moore trying to outdo all his epigones at once. It’s Sandman and Transmetropolitan and Doom Patrol and Hellblazer all in one.

Like this is what left-liberal Americans think is how hospitals in Portugal work. From someone else I'd think it's just an underbaked or inattentive development of the world. From Moore and especially in this comic I can see it as a comment on Utopia.

Is this healthcare system a way to convey that despite looking like your average cyberpunk dystopia, this New York is actually a pretty nice place to live in?
