I write enterprise software you don't need to care about and stuff about tech and politics you won't read because it's in Romanian.
One Battle After Another discourse really filters for who likes film as medium and doesn't.

My For You tab on Twitter is 70% filled with posts about Hasam's dog, mostly negative, since yesterday. This simply can't be organic.

Comic book fans continue to be the worst and almost all of comic book twitter seems to have turned into comicsgate, with slightly different pretensions. Kinda the same targets, tho: marginal queer creators and the biggest shitlibs authors there.

I hate Scott Snyder because he's so mid and over his head 90% of the time, but he still manages to hit some really high notes that nobody does anymore.

The technical proficiency on display in Adolescence is in fact the show straining to justify its lack of curiosity. The single take maintains the idea that the school, the police, the family are separate domains of social existence all to conclude that there's nothing anybody could do.

Randomly searched for myself on Google Scholar and apparently I'm a very minor authority on the historiography of superhero comics.

Hypothesis: managerialism, far from mutating or even transforming capitalism is better understood as taking the disciplining force of the market inside the sphere of production as the market becomes more monopolistic and capital itself more concentrated and centralized.

Playing Nier Replicant and I feel I stumbled on a missing link between the older Zeldas, Ico/Shadow of the Colossus and Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom.

I don't get why people were complaining about the second part of The Brutalist.

There should be an award for managing to show your ass in such a way. That "epistemological break" sentence is work of art for how many subjects the guy displays basically no understing of.

Had to stop the episode when Vivek Chibber started talking about the authoritarianism of wokeness. That and the obsession with "thought police" is the most lib shit ever.

The conspiracies that DeepSeek are shorting Nvidia make no sense. You're shorting something that's generally overevaluated, not something that can experience a momentary drop. Nvidia's stock is already on the rise.

I realized that a big part of the recentish reactionary trend in tech, on the ground level, is coming from people with deep technical expertise, but not so deep as to actually be the guys that build the systems the enterprise and web guys use.

The level of discourse happening on Twitter. This is so depressing.

I don't remember the original GamerGate guys being as dull as the current one is. It's depressing how they don't need to be persuasive in any way, through fact or affect, rather only gesture towards making an argument and a new target is place, a new talking point adopted.

Is R1 that impressive or is the hype just AI people gassing up the competition to raise more money after they haven't delivered anything novel in the past six months?
