I'm glad this sentiment is common.
It's like, yes, she's bad, but before she came out of the cauldron as a villain, she was merely an entertainer of sorts who clearly did something right,
even if now a bunch of people retroactively find tons of other YA fantasy fictions that just didn't take off.

My impression from friends who were extremely into Harry Potter fandom is that the whole community—including a number of bestselling novelists who cut their teeth writing fan and slash fics—hate her like poison

I made a #Heroscape map (with tan "cookie" pieces from MtG: Arena of the Planeswalkers) inspired by a sort of Candyland or Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory type of look.
It's not perfect, but I wanted to give it a try when I saw the triples looked like S'mores stacked that way.
