"So it's a toy show?"
"Toys, books, bikes, singing and dancing, that sort of thing."
"Aimed at what age group?"
"Say four to twelve-ish."
"And it starts at..."
"Twenty to ten, runs till after midnight."
"Is that... set in stone?"
"Absolute deal-breaker, yeah."
"Ok... Great."

People often say you should fill your ballot all the way down.

Allow me to provide a top PR-STV voting tip: you do not have to fill your ballot when there are multiple fascists on it

Today is a great day to start or get back into 99% Invisible. It's a show about the objects and systems we design and what these things say about us and our values.

Start with any episode! Jump around! Pick one about something you're into. Find one about something you're not

A few years ago I made a series of mini drawings of interesting Irish women (available as a print here www.ciaraioch.com/artprints/p/...) - this thread is a little information on the women featured, partly because it's useful, but mostly because I'm trying to be sustainable by recycling content.

Over on 'the other place', Mick Byrne has this really useful summary of Irish political parties' housing policies, ahead of #ge24. Stunning that, ten years into a chronic and worsening shortage of rental homes, not a single major political party has any plans to increase supply.

The fact that UCC hid a 3000-year-old mummy under the floorboards of a lecture theatre on a campus where two and a half tonnes of uranium rods were being stored in a basement nearby and DIDN'T end up with a zombie-pharaoh apocalypse is both a mystery and endlessly disappointing
