Let dandelions grow: Bees, birds & butterflies need them. Dandelions provide an early food source for pollinators, aerate soil, & offer exceptional nutritional benefits for humans & pets.

Dandelion are rich in vitamins/minerals/antioxidants. The leaves & flowers can be consumed in salads/teas/wine.

Dandelions are demonised as one of the most pernicious weeds, but hold back on the mowing and you’ll find a whole range of garden wildlife depends on them for food, writes Kate Bradbury

She also stood up for the Epstein victims with Massey. She's wrongheaded about quite a few issues from my point of view, but she does seem to care about some things that matter.

2/2 It's expensive to put a horse down ($1000) or keep it until it's 25-40 years old. It's easier to sell to a "kill pen" where they are sold down the pipeline, instead of taking responsibility for an animal that can't be worked. is old, or has medical issues. At least the US was regulated.

Thank you for posting this. On the surface it seems cruel to have slaughter here, but in fact the horses suffer much more when packed in semis and shipped to Mexico, where they do not have humane slaughter facilities. It's a cruel death.1/2

Even if you support massive deportation operations, under no circumstances should ANYONE be ok with US citizens being forcibly removed from their homes and detained without explanation.

This is a clear violation of their constitutional rights and should universally condemned.

Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 that she understood would only be released after her death.

The naturalist Jane Goodall died today at 91. Hope, she argued, is not merely “passive wishful thinking” but a “crucial survival trait.” Revisit a conversation with Goodall, from 2021: nyer.cm/F55JtsS

This is tech/marketing people leveraging decades of science fiction media presenting "AI" as generally encyclopedic and infallible. People think they're getting JARVIS, when what they're getting is the machine version of that annoying dude in your dorm confidently spouting bullshit on every subject

This marketing term is causing untold harm, of course, mostly to the naive and gullible. But it’s surprising how many educated and apparently intelligent people are placing an unwarranted degree of trust in these programmes.

Good morning, all.

I wonder what nonsense awaits us today.

They win as soon as they make science a debate, unfortunately. But this is very good.

This is your must read of the day.

"The neurogeneticist Stanley Nelson once said, 'If you had 100 kids with autism, you could have 100 different genetic causes.'
Researchers increasingly believe the search for a cause of a singular 'autism' is misguided. There are autisms, rather than just autism."

I actually forgot about her! She's pretty good at staying camouflaged and out of the spotlight. One way to keep your job.

Who wants to guess it's "don't vaccinate your kids." Or worse, if that's possible. Wish it was, "hey people are on the spectrum. Let's be accepting and kind to those with neurodiversity."

She said I would rather stick a fork in my eye than attend that press conference.

Autism is not a disease and these kids are not damaged, despite what HHS Secretary Kennedy says.

Horse prices have been through the roof the last several years. For a draft horse, it's 60K+ to get anything nice for showing/hitches. I don't know if this economy can sustain that kind of spending on a hobby that is pretty niche at this point.
