We’re not dealing with brilliant strategists cleverly laying traps, we’re dealing with impulsive whiners whose advantage is contempt for laws, norms, and morality.

They’re not pulling some elaborate trick, they’re just willing—even eager—to do things regular, principled people consider off limits.

Um, ICE just coldly shot an unarmed PRIEST in the head w a pepper ball when he (and everyone around him) clearly posed no threat.

For the crime of … complaining about government policy.

With cameras rolling, they’re sniping priests for sport.

If you ever had any doubt that rightwing media is just official state propaganda at this point, consider that Charlie Kirk was replaced on his show by the sitting Republican vice president who ‘interviewed’ White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller.

Who won the Battle of Thermopylae

Harmeet Dhillon at NatCon: "When the next group of elites comes to demand we stop protecting fairness in hiring, confidence in our elections, safety in girls sports, we're going to answer them the same way that Leonidas answered on the eve of the Battle of Thermopylae: Molon Labe. Come and take it."

Absolutely love to see it. And I hope this trend catches on in other circumstances too.

A careful study of every populist episode since 1900 finds catastrophic consequences, which play out slowly.

On average, incomes fall behind by nearly 15% over 15 years.

For the U.S., this is a cost of about $13k per person per year. Over a lifetime, that's million bucks.

This memo is being sent to Democratic leaders/elites,
arguing that directly attacking Trump's deployment of the National Guard in DC is politically unwise. It encourages the use of terms like distraction and stunt. (I am not endorsing this kind of thinking at all. ) www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/bz9d8...

We’re 7 months in, and “Pentagon plans military deployment in Chicago” is a headline in the Washington Post. And because it’s city number three, we’re already numbing to it.

If you read this about any other democracy in the world, you’d conclude that it was well on the road to a dictatorship.
Pentagon plans military deployment in Chicago as Trump eyes crackdown
President Donald Trump said Chicago is his next likely target to crack down on urban crime. Military planning has been ongoing for weeks, officials say.

Work-life balance is bad, says 22-year-old with terrible life www.wsj.com/opinion/work...
Work-Life Balance’ Will Keep You Mediocre I took a different approach and spent my time building a social-media company from my dorm room. That business, Step Up Social, helped companies grow on TikTok and Instagram Reels. It hit $1 million a year in revenue in less than two years. During my first year working on Step Up Social, I averaged 3½ hours of sleep a night and had about 12½ hours every day to focus on business. The physical and mental toll was brutal: I gained 80 pounds, lived on Red Bull and struggled with anxiety. But this level of intensity was the only way to build a multimillion-dollar company.

The persistence of the “chicken tax” suggests something about the long-term impact that Trump’s myriad new tariffs — including the dozens of country-specific tariff rates that went into effect this month — could have on the economy and federal trade policy.

The latest from @ericboehm87.bsky.social:
Opinion | The ‘chicken tax’ offers a scary lesson about Trump’s tariffs
Don’t be surprised if Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs far outlast the trade war.
