There's a lot of kids in Minnesota missing. No one knows where they are. Not DHS, not ICE, not the local police, no one. They just know some masked unidentified people claiming they're police took them. No one knows where they are. And now we know who ICE is employing.

The current Supreme Court has weaponized these "emergency" actions, issuing such orders with increased frequency in order to effectively dictate real world outcomes without having to issue formal opinions or really grapple with the merits of a case. 3/3

So these "emergency" actions (which can take various forms) are often provided with little analysis b/c the court is prioritizing speed.

Historically, courts have taken such actions sparingly, trusting trial level courts--which have much more experience with quick action--to handle them 2/3

Appellate courts, ideally, issue opinions after full argument and consideration of the issues with no real time constraints.

But sometimes an appellate court has to act quickly because the real world actions that it is being asked to prevent or allow will happen before it can issue an opinion 1/3

They're literally being worse than McConnell basically ever was. People just have this strange shibboleth in their mind because he kept the Scalia seat open, but the GOP literally had a majority in the senate wtf were you expecting

Highlighting the speaker who stood in front of the Surprise mayor and told him to consider what the Mayor of Ohrdruf must’ve thought before he died by suicide: “He might have thought ‘how is this my fault I had no jurisdiction over this’ maybe he said ‘this site was not subject to local zoning.’”
