There will be bigger fish to fry, but when The Reckoning comes, I hope there is some space to hold to account conservatives who posted #NeverTrump for whom “never” meant until it became mildly inconvenient. They created a false impression of intellectual conservative resistance that was never there.

Trump has never had juice. The GOP pols, media members, CEOs, and university presidents who claim to be scared into supporting him have always agreed with him. The fear has been an excuse since 2016.
This guy has no fucking juice. People need to realize standing up to him works and catering to him does not.

Bold of him to give his 2028 GOP Convention acceptance speech before he has formally locked up the nomination.
Fuentes, yesterday: “Our #1 political enemy is women because women constrain everything, every conversation, every man, everything. They have to be imprisoned. They are the ones that are hurting the fertility rate. They're the ones making us sympathetic to poor people, which are also brown people.”
Nick Fuentes: “The number one political enemy in America is women. … They have to be imprisoned.”

There's a lot of kids in Minnesota missing. No one knows where they are. Not DHS, not ICE, not the local police, no one. They just know some masked unidentified people claiming they're police took them. No one knows where they are. And now we know who ICE is employing.

This paper looks to be an exemplar of the "argument that seems self-evident but only after someone else thought of it and wrote it out" genre. It's not that the argument is obvious (derogatory) but so powerful and intuitive that you slap your forehead after reading it (laudatory). Excited to dig in!
Very excited that @gelbach.bsky.social & I will be publishing "Bruen's Tenth Amendment Problem" in the @uchilrev.bsky.social!

Our central arg is that Bruen's erasure of unexercised powers violates the 10th Am's preservation of existing State power. Comments welcome!

I’m sure she will be very mature and professional about it, but if I were the first alternate for the US team that was prevented from having my Olympic moment, because Lindsey Vonn decided to try and ski on one knee, I’d probably lack the maturity and professionalism not to say *something*

Anyways, dear reader, this congress has been wildly unproductive, and that includes things like appointments. The democrats have literally been as obstructive as possible in the senate and forced Thune to change the votes multiple times -after- wasting tons of time.

They're literally being worse than McConnell basically ever was. People just have this strange shibboleth in their mind because he kept the Scalia seat open, but the GOP literally had a majority in the senate wtf were you expecting

Doomerism is just a combo of self-fulfilling defeatism, counterproductive demotivation, and a lazy insistence on refusing to accept any of the facts that contradict it.

Aided, admittedly, by a media that would STILL somehow find a way to phrase a successful removal of Trump as “Dems in disarray.”

There is value in having executive branch actors that exercise interpretive and adjudicative powers while helping their agency execute the law.

We should stop calling them judges.

They can provide a valuable service. But the term "judge" implies a neutrality and detachment that they do not have.

On the one hand, I’m a career public defender who believes that our criminal justice system over punishes people as a matter of course.

On the other hand, I think there should be mandatory life sentences for people who post about court decisions without linking to them.
