"Hi - can I pet your dog?"

From Buffalo, NY. Founder of Kenmore Porchfest, trail runner, programmer (PHP) & professor at BSU. ✊
The founder of GObike is going to be the City of Buffalo's new Parking Commissioner 👏👏👏👏

This makes me so happy and hopeful for the City's future.

"GObike promotes active mobility options, trails and greenways, and complete streets in Western New York."

Reached the point where 18° isn't too cold and might even feel a bit mild. That's how bad the past few days have been.

OMG "Buffalo sober" 😂

"Just beer and wine. And some of the lighter liquors."

"Both the town and the state had responsibility for maintaining a safe intersection…

The town failed to provide “reasonable and safe conditions” for Leah and other pedestrians to cross at the intersection."

Get 'em. WNY govt is constantly bowing down to car brains. Make them pay $$$

I used to want my friends to text first. Now I'm just happy if they reply to a message.

My friend taught me this trick the other day on how to fall back asleep, and I've used it every night since (twice last night):

Take a big number: ex 193
Count backwards by 7's

193, 186, 179, 172...

It requires enough thought to push away other thoughts & has worked every time within minutes.

I wish I knew how to turn off my brain. Instead, I guess I'm getting up at 2am again.

Students use ChatGPT to do the work 🤝 Teachers use ChatGPT to grade the work

(I do review the results, and give ChatGPT feedback to make the grading better, but it writes really good feedback for my students)

Yesterday my daughters and I surprised my wife while she was at work by covering the living room ceiling with Christmas lights and decorations.

I've had dogs who didn't listen to me; when I'd say "sit" and they just looked at me then started licking themselves, I'd say "lick yourself" & then the dog was doing what I told it to do.

That's what trump is doing here. He realizes it's going to happen, so he's pretending to be in favor of it.

Still thinking about Paul McCartney ending Friday night's concert with, "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."

Not to mention seeing him perform "Let it Be" and "Hey Jude" live. Such a great concert.

This is the first year I'm not wishing my father a happy Veterans Day, because he *still* supports the guy who wanted to rename it "Victory Day for World War I"

Cars are essential in most of the U.S. They're also increasingly unaffordable

My scene was 1.2 seconds long, and I wasn't in the shot. Guess I'll have to try again
8pm tonight on the Hallmark channel: my big movie premiere as "Guy walking into the party" in A Newport Christmas! Let's see if my 10-hours on set and 15 seconds of filming time makes the final cut. If they don't show the couples walking into the party, the whole plot just falls apart.

Finished grading current assignments & did most of the monthly housework tasks.
Tmrw I'll finish cleaning the kitchen, go for a run, prep breakfast for the week, get classes ready for the week & grade late work.
Hoping that's done by the start of the Bills game so I can relax a bit.

I'm so tired.
