I went to Birling Gap today. It was quite windy and a bit cold but it's always worth visiting there for the views. There were a few brave tourists enjoying those views and taking many selfies (of course).

1. Some good news at last. This week’s column is about the amazing thing a couple of us stumbled into three years ago, which we’ve now developed into a global research programme. It doesn’t change everything, of course, but it could help change quite a lot. + 🧵 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

In Jack Baty's latest (excellent) post, he says:

"Org-mode is [...] essentially useless outside of Emacs"

What is this **outside of Emacs** he mentions? Is this some metaphysical concept I am not aware of?

Cycled along part of the Downs Link today. It was a grey day but not raining and relatively warm (12 or so degrees C). Mind you, it was quite windy (and it was a head wind, of course) along the coast.

I took the train to Brighton. From the rail station, I […]

Ready for today's session at EmacsConf: mpv running, irc (via erc, of course) channels open, browser window with links to discussions for the talks, all within exwm. Cannot be more Emacs than this. 😉

Looking forward to it.

Very nice talk by Amin Bandali on gnus in Emacs taking place right now at the Emacs Conference. It helps demystify gnus for those people which may have been put off by the complexity (aka power) of gnus.

The talk should be available now (or soon) at […]

A surprising, to me, benefit of riding a single speed bicycle: not having to think about changing gears means I get lost in the moment more. I just *keep on pedalling*, to paraphrase Dora in Finding Nemo. 😀
