I'm a firm believer in the concept of the 'living world' style of role-play, It's something I've missed from a very old, now gone, MMO where the story progressed the world month to month and 'now' was always 'now'.

It aids immersion gives others an easy way to weave stories together.

I look at how the MSQ events would impact the common folk in the game. Many things that happen are world shaping events. The Dragon Song War, the Liberation of Ala Mhigo, the Final Days.

These things have far more meaning meaning for the world beyond the fight with Nidhog or the Endsinger.

For those whose OCs are primarily Non WoL, how do you handle the existence of the MSQ? Do you have a separate WoL? Does your lil guy get to play pretend before resuming their regular life? Or do you just ignore it?

If I may make a humble suggestion...

I'm seeing a ton of posts where people are reposing some atrocity and giving it airtime while saying "this is bad".

Don't advertise for them. Say 'they're bad, here's why' but don't give their kofi, commission, portfolio links, etc.

Don't give them business.

There is something very typically South Shroud of a scene where one Keeper of the Moon is getting his arm stitched up by another. A third Miqo'te sits near by asking them for help with this week's crossword puzzle.

None of the three seem phased by any of this.

Erah'sae would drive an old Chevy impala he found it abandoned before the Calamity and fixed it up. It's seen a lot of different parts over the years. It's been repainted, the doors are scavenged from a different model and the AC only works on Tuesdays, but it never fails to get where it's going.

Yeah, I understand that. It's an inevitability that once easily procured places for gathering people together that it would happen. The moderation issues get exasperated by the real time nature of discord as well.

I tried using the timing sheet once and it felt so spread out and disjointed. For me it was so much harder to visualize.

So I have my own thing that, when others see it, it confuses the hell out of them.

Brains are all different and need different methods. If it works, it works.

I do miss the days where there were one or two massive forums that served as hubs where different groups had their own spaces. There was a lot of good visibility back in the ffxiv-roleplayer.com days.

I won't pretend it wasn't without it's problems. I just miss not having to juggle 200 discords.

If only there were a shared space were everyone could create their own or thread in a non-ephemeral fashion... A forum, if you will.
