Our argument is simple: it is indisputably in the public interest to continue SNAP benefits. Cutting them off will mean some 42 million Americans—children, disabled people, elderly people—could go hungry. And local governments will be left to pick up the pieces. /2

I’m so humbled to receive an award bearing AG Kelley’s name. He was a trailblazer, who used the AG's authority to protect the people against the powerful.

He was the first AG in America to create consumer and environmental protection divisions in a state AG’s office. /3
