Many people feel overwhelmed with the number of potential climate solutions, and are not quite sure what to focus on.

@projectdrawdown.bsky.social has always been at helping people navigate the minefield.

Their new explorer is really cool, and helps to make things clearer: drawdown.org/explorer
Drawdown® Explorer
We know what we need to do: stop climate change as quickly as possible. Now, with the Drawdown Explorer, we know how to do it.

Please share with anyone who cares about NSF support for graduate students and take 30 seconds to sign and leave a comment.

The deadline for the 2025 Graduate Research Fellowship Program is about one month away and literally no one can apply. #NSFGRFP

A very basic test here is not just whether vaccines are technically available, but too onerous to access for most people. We absolutely know that making services more burdensome is a de facto reduction to access.

“Americans need to confront their cowardly elected officials before the vaccines that have saved more than 150 million lives globally in the last half century become unobtainable… [or] suffer the painful lesson that politics and incompetence cause far more side effects than any vaccine ever could.”

The US Supreme Court has derailed researchers’ efforts to reinstate almost $2 billion in grants issued by the NIH. The court’s decision represents a remarkable reversal, allowing the Trump team to proceed with its science cuts.

Just got to present @eselland.bsky.social and I’s
Schistosomiasis lab project at ESA!

While I primarily work with mosquitoes now, learning about Schistosomiasis in undergrad parasitology was what convinced me to become a disease ecologist. Such a cool full circle moment for me!

NEW: i spoke to nine (!) scientists across several disciplines whose work was cited in the new Department of Energy report that downplays the severity of climate change. all of them say their work was misrepresented, cherry picked, and/or lacked context —

❗I try not to swear, but, well, f**k, this will kill trans youth

The 2023 Youth Risk Behavior Survey found that "about 26% of transgender & questioning students attempted suicide in the past year compared with 5% of cisgender male & 11% of cisgender female students"

Each time you ask an AI chatbot a question, it sends a request to a data center and strains an increasingly scarce resource: water.

A 🧵on our investigation into how the data centers that power AI are increasingly being built in highly water-stressed places:
