Don’t underestimate Russia’s and Iran’s stakes in Syria or their ability to mobilize disparate forces in support of Assad. Both have poured billions into this war (Iran significantly more so), it would be astonishing if either acquiesce.

I hope everyone understands what a ceasefire with Israel means. It does not mean and end to war. It means *less* war while Israel maintains its self-appointed right to bomb Lebanon whenever it wants.

With news of a ceasefire deal for Lebanon being announced in the next 24 hours, the bombing in and around the capital has intensified to the highest degree.
They did the same in 2006, in the few days before applying the ceasefire, they just emptied their stockpile on Lebanon.
