I was going to use that as the example at first but decided to switch to asbestos instead.

"You can't un-invent AI!" We can't un-invent asbestos either. That doesn't mean we have to use it.

Thankfully the humble !!(value) expression saved the day. (Yes, I *am* making these memes to cope with the stress.)

Final note: expect my next month's blog post to be labeled as "November" instead of "October," i.e. I'm finally syncing them up to the month they actually release in instead of having them lag one month behind.

So, look forward to all that I guess.

You might have also seen that I'm giving a virtual talk on the 7th! I'll be discussing how to make multi purpose puzzles and what that even means.

Also a lot of other interesting talks in the lineup.

The TL;DR is that I'm going to release a free demo for Parallel Dungeons soon! It's going to contain a sizable portion of the full game that you can play for free!

I need the game's store page to be approved first and do some last minute polish, but other than that the demo's almost done.

I'm also feeling a bit of rogue like genre fatigue. It doesn't help that I'm currently making one. 😭

I thought the lore was that the time loop works by transferring the protagonist's *memories* back in time, right? So by necessity, you begin each loop in the same physical state (Which could be nauseous if the protagonist was really unlucky that day.)

It turns out an underrated benefit of releasing your game with a level editor is that it lets you quickly make and share meme posts.

They have a complicated animation of the old logo being destroyed, yet they don't give the same treatment to their new logo.

Really odd to put the emphasis on the "destruction" part of the rebranding.

It's weird looking back at Google Translate. It was once near-universally accepted (or at least tolerated) without controversy but now fall under the controversial banner of "Generative AI." (Or maybe it's still not controversial? IDK.)

Doesn't Google Translate count as "generative AI", though? I wouldn't be surprised if this WAS Google Translate and the dev put in this disclosure because they considered Google Translate as "AI".

I’m 90% certain their argument will be “we used humans to revise the final product, so it’s eligible for copyright.” Which is ironic.

To iterate on the first point: I have “source data” and “build data” folders, and to make a build I can just copy everything from “build data” and ignore source.

My structure goes something like this (these questions are used to sort into different nesting folders:) “is this asset included in builds?” followed by “what kind of asset is it?” followed by “what category is this asset?”
