First day at 6th form college and I was asked directly what my politics was. Not even a 'hello'.
Can't remember what I said, but ended up flyposting for the Communist party. 🙃

Even all those years ago (1970s) they were performing like this, and it's obvious that nothing changes. That's why they will never go anywhere near power. I don't even think they want it. It would frighten them.

I'm popping 'round for tea. 😋

As far as I know, it should be perfectly possible for you to do it, but you may need to unwind a whole lifetime of sitting in chairs.
I've always sat like that, so it's hard for me to give advice, but it's not genetic. I'm most definitely an older European. Only about 0.5% of me is Afghan. 🙃

I've found that the more I sit like that, the less my knees hurt.
Hips I've not thought about much, but apart from the odd ligament ache, I'm not bothered by that too much. Having a cat, I'm used to sleeping on my back with my legs crossed, which probably helps!

This is great for hip flexibility.
I sit like this a lot. Doesn't matter where you are - you never need a chair, and when you spend a lot of time outdoors in all weathers it's nice to be able to sit down without getting your backside wet!

I got a response to another petition then thought I'd check. It would be nice to be able to use the government OneID. Then I could log in and see the petitions I'd voted in and how they were progressing. Unlike most things, being able to prove who you are is important. 🤷‍♂️
