Our governmental structures are wildly inefficient because of our bottom approach. It’s baked into the constitution, so it is what it is.

In Maine, the issue is more pronounced.

Most of what you mentioned are covered by property taxes, which aren’t even a part of what I was referencing.

Not sure if you saw my response to a question in the other thread, but that’s exactly right.

The difference in perspective is that CEO pay isn’t a cause of that, it’s an effect.

Poor and ineffective government regulations on mergers and acquisitions is the real issue.

Lack of competition.

Since the 1980s, mergers and acquisitions have ruined portability of companies fighting for well qualified labor.

CEO compensation isn’t the cause of that, it’s an effect of it.

Weak regulations surrounding mergers and acquisitions is a far more effective talking point.

CEO compensation is almost never real wages that can be given to workers. They’re stock options.

Take Starbucks. $90M with 381,000 employees.

Make the CEO work for free and give each employee $236 extra for the year.

What’s the point here?

So what do we do? Toss our hands up in the air and say over 1,000 innocent people deserved to be murdered?

Where does it end?

Every government and every person is solely responsible for their individual actions. I stand by that.

There’s A LOT to be said about things like the Sykes-Picot agreement post WWI that initially divided up the Middle East to the Balfour Declaration in 1917 and the injustices that have happened since.

Glad I’m not the only one.

I read this and just had to walk away from my laptop.

Some of the Trump economic policies have nuances that are real problems like trying to deal with college tuition costs and nearly unlimited student loan debt.

This. This is murder.

I don’t ever mean to take away from anyone else’s grief.

For me, this particular thing that is the source of my PTSD.

Domestic operations in DC. January 6th.

The uniquenesses and misunderstandings about the DC Guard. Why the President controls it and not the mayor. All of it.

Congress has been useless for a long time. Both parties. Im angry at establishment politicians who have been in office just about as long as I’ve been alive, and cant name the relevant section of Title 10 to save their lives. Let alone DC Home Rule.

I’m openly grieving. Take that for it’s worth.

Do we take some personal responsibility for failing to pay attention to our neighbor?

Trump’s power is our apathy towards understanding those who are different than us.
November 27, 2025 at 2:11 AM
Congress gave the Executive branch more power than it was ever supposed to have, and it MUST STOP.

One of the statements that I heard Susan Collins make, which boils my blood, is that she, “defers to the president on appointments”

Meaning, she just rubber stamps whatever comes. Regardless.
