felt compelled to look up ICE authority for warrantless arrests

if I'm reading this correctly, the circumstances under which ICE can arrest a citizen are basically limited to 'I literally saw you commit a felony and you're about to escape and no one's gonna be able to get a warrant'

this aint that

DOE commercial liftoff reports have been disappeared www.energy.gov/lpo/pathways...
Great, smart reports with little political agenda. A real shame. We have them archived as do your ex-DOE colleagues I'm sure.

🚨 Excited to share an op-ed I wrote for @fortune.com about OpenAI’s recent attempt to partner with Hollywood -- and what it reveals about the future of AI and creative industries.

The good news? AI companies have a chance to see that that the ethical and economic incentives are actually aligned.
OpenAI can’t afford to ignore Hollywood’s warning
OpenAI’s Hollywood misadventure is reminiscent of an earlier dispute between the media industry and Silicon Valley.

The pause on dispersement of all federal grants doesnt just impact NEW grants not yet awarded. It applies also to grants already awarded & under contract, funds people are legally entitled to and counting on to make payroll. That's illegal & must be halted immediately. Courts must enforce the law.🔌💡

Opposition will be hard enough. What will Dems do if the bill creates a culture of baseless accusation against migrants? Or if a state AG sues a future Dem Administration under the provisions of this bill and hobbles immigration policy?

Cry foul on something they helped pass?
Reminds me of the run-up to the Iraq War. Dems did not want to seem weak on an issue, and then when the public turned against it, they were as tied to it as Bush was.

Once officials do start rounding up immigrants, and the public responds, going to be hard for Dems to pin it on Trump.
Dems appear close to surrendering to Trump/GOP on the Laken Riley Act. Dem aides tell me they're particularly rankled with how Sens John Fetterman and Ruben Gallego rushed to endorse the whole bill. That undercut the potential to amend it later.

The Updated #VirtualPowerPlant liftoff report is out! We are on track to deploying 160GW of flexibility by 2030 -- this is the only way to help utility companies keep rate increases to the rate of inflation.

The report adds case studies already at scale! Just need to push!

I had a lot of fun pulling some data on the small (emphasis on “small”) but mighty role that non-accredited investors are increasingly playing in climate.

If anyone in #EnergySky has experience raising in RegCF environments, I’d love to hear what you learned!

A couple key findings:
