Anybody else have trouble with their Xbox dying right after the warranty expires? Our THIRD Xbox series X just died less than 2 years after we bought it. Quote on repair is $300. This feels intentional. I am sure as fuck never buying an Xbox ever again.

".. During a radio interview Saturday .., Bessent said 'tariffs can’t be inflationary because if the price of one thing goes up -- unless you give people more money -- then they have less money to spend on the other thing, so there is no inflation.'"

if the choice is between “baked potato with toothpicks for legs and a face sharpied on” and “failed coup artist 1000% committed to ending democracy in america” then I am unapologetically on team baked potato
The biggest challenge in 2024 is to get enough people to actually listen to what Trump and those around him are openly, consistently, and explicitly promising to do once they get back to power.

It is utterly deranged, and discounting it as just rhetoric would be a disaster.

1923: Hitler’s failed coup.

No real consequences.
No fundamental changes.

1933: Hitler takes power.

I wish I could implant this into everyone’s brain.

At PC Gamer we've been talking about how to convey the scale of 16,000+ game devs being laid off in a year, without forgetting that number represents individual people with their own stories. This is our first attempt: 16,000 dots, alongside voices of those affected. www.pcgamer.com/the-impact-o...

this is a success rate that basically *doesn't exist* for medical interventions

in any rational world this would be the end of any argument about HRT or transition generally

but the cruelty is the point, not the actual data

Extremely funny how we keep doing pilots of this idea, it keeps working and instead of scaling it up we just do more pilots.
Fresh basic income pilot results, this time from Arlington, Virginia where 200 people got $500 a month for 2 years. The findings:

Employment INCREASED by 16%, and their incomes from paid work INCREASED by 37%. The control group saw no such gains.
