In celebration of me avoiding becoming department chair for the next 3 years and receiving a new research chair, please enjoy one of my favourite parrot photos from two years ago.

Maybe. That’s the best I can do

Yes. Assuming that they still get here and you can book a spot with health services. We “reserved” ours but unclear when we can them.

Sighs deeply in Albertan...😔
evoneuro.bsky.social
This appears to be another "Alberta advantage" then. I spent over an hour today trying to explain why a form was definitively not needed followed by an hour of exporting a file 8 different ways before it could be read by the NSERC Alliance grant system. A very productive use of my time 😔

Are there still Canadian universities that have support staff that support faculty and not administrators? Asking for a friend...

Meanwhile at my university, zero accommodations for parents with kids at home due to a teachers strike…😔

We definitely have our issues, but still the Canadian funding system. NSERC currently has a 67% funding success rate with $0 overhead. We also get 12 months of salary and 100% salary for sabbaticals.

New episode!! 🎉🎙️

A chat w/ @evoneuro.bsky.social & Georg Striedter about their new book, 'Bird Brains and Behavior.'

Birds do some astonishing things. They sing, fly, migrate, cache food, and hunt in total darkness. How do their brains make all this possible?

How the f is this an article? He strung a bunch of Marlaina quotes along the length of a page and obviously didn't bother talking to the ATA. Journalism at its finest again from the douchenozzle that is Rick Bell.
