Just a Canadian knitter
I hate cold water but it's not my stomach the problem, it's my teeth and my whole mouth to be honest. I only drink it when I have no other options and one option is to microwave it (for real)

Quebec City is getting better recently but it's still so bad I can't believe it's better than all American cities. Seriously, my brain can't compute.

I'm really jealous, that looks like a fairytail!

That was such a nice story, thank you for sharing!

I can't even begin to comprehend why both our experiences are so different.

I just came back for an "urgent" retina exam today: 50$CAD, 2 weeks after my call. In Canada, eyes are the same as teeth, not covered except when you are in danger of death. Before the advent of internet glasses, eye exams were often free though. Now it's about 170$CAD.

Even if we sometimes get saddled by surprised costs, we are so used that it's free, we never ask how it will cost before they tell us. They know they need to tell us before we walk out! That or the system is crumbling faster than I thought.

I will never understand those people. Even if you could only ride your bike 1 month per year, it would totally be worth it! I live somewhere with virtually no biking infrastructure, of course I will never ride anywhere in winter. So what? we have other seasons.

I feel you, where I live, all mature ash trees are dying at the same time 😢

Thankfully, the new tree we planted in 2007 is really big now!

My parents once cut down their only 2 trees because they received a letter from a layer. I have no idea if it was legit but they got scared as intended. The reason was not even birds, just tree flowers falling on their neighbours' cars.

They should have never invented the 4-door pick up truck. Life was simpler before 4-door pick up trucks.

They want disabled people to stay hidden away in their homes, who is ableist here??

Thank you this is very timely. I need a new fridge and I was super close to make a new account because new fridges are expensive and facebook marketplace has now a monopoly on used goods :(

Yep! I'm 43 and there are still coming! Always about university though.

Not just that but young people without cars sitting in slow busses are more likely to buy a car too. I know because it was me once. It was not the only problem with the bus system but it was the main one.

Canada Post doesn't suspend parcel delivery but we need a proof that 35% duties were paid off before we can ship anything. Hundreds of small businesses are stopping selling in the US as we speak.

But is it legal? Where I live, it's illegal for any assist to go past 20mph. If the ebike movement is being hindered by something illegal, that's beyond frustrating!
August 17, 2025 at 2:03 PM
That's completely ableist. But I have my doubts it would work, maybe in 2015 but in 2025? Do they know the ratio of e-bikes vs all bikes now??
