I tend to go to Chinatown on Saturday or Sunday and those lots are always super empty. That whole neighbourhood would be awesome if filled with dense mixed-use developments. More people living there and great streetscapes with small storefronts to allow for great variety of shops.

Coming back to this in the afternoon, I'm so grumpy we didn't get this project. Even if reality turned out to be half the renderings it would have been great. Cool activated laneways, little store fronts, brick!. Chinatown needs unique density like this.
This is what was fought against on 3rd Ave and 1st Street to keep a parking lot.

NEW: The City of Calgary is opening public engagement on the proposed downtown alignment for the Green Line LRT.

The proposal calls for an elevated LRT line from the Event Centre down 10 Ave S and running up 2nd St SW.

I go to Chinatown at least once a week, it's drowning in surface parking lots on its west end. We need mixed-use redevelopment, one of which was fought by the community and maybe even the BIA if I recall correctly...

Yes, Alberta too! I remember the orange pitcher and bags, and making the little cut in the top corner. This was from at least 1987 to the mid 90’s.

We clearly lost our way once the departed our borders.

"Time to dust off the clubs folks; how’s Fox Hollow looking?"

Funny enough, I figure there is a good chance I see folks playing on it today as I ride home.

That sad realization that so many of your neighbours see your community only through the windshield of their vehicle. They'd be much happier if they walked or biked around it every now and then (or become radicalized lol). #yycbike

When drivers can't even have empathy/safety for the kids going to the same school as their own we have completely lost the plot.

I never even considered it as a bypass for the Bow north MUP, it will definitely be a great choice in the busy season to do that. More folks rolling these lanes in our neighbourhood will be great, make sure to wave to a few "grumpy old men" as you do it. 😉 #yycbike

Not kidding about those salty icebergs on the west end of the track, but pretty manageable. Thankfully, the +10 chinook weather should finish the job over the next couple of days.

Really well designed this new Sunnyside cycletrack… will become a good alternative for the N Bow MUP #yycbike

Wow. First WestJet gives us YYC-GRU, and now we are getting Etihad serving YYC-Abu Dhabi 4x weekly starting in November. Did not see that coming. #avgeek

Yup, buh-bye to that nice hardpack on certain streets. The snirt shall be born again.

All of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again.

It's crazy how localized it can be, we chose to mitigate after monitoring for 1 year in 2022.
