This is a perfect example of the "fuck you" clearing we see sometimes. Imagine just leaving a wall of snow on Deerfoot somewhere for the cars to encounter.

Good reminder to all #yycbike folk, stay alert at all intersections. I spend more time on the sidewalks / out of the way. Sit back, watch the fireworks then proceed through the collision scene. The red light running will only get worse through the winter.

Morning #yycbike update: Bow north was cleared from George King bridge east around the zoo now. Section from the bridge to Bridgeland station was pure ice, use lots of caution. Plenty of bumpy hard bits all over this morning. Some side streets are nice hard pack.
Afternoon update #yycbike: Fox hollow hill and Nose creek cleared to Memorial. Bow north around the zoo and west to East Village not cleared (grrr). I wonder if we need to 311 it since this section was closed due to construction for over a year? Riverwalk and Eau Claire cleared.
#yycbike report (0530): Eau Claire, Riverwalk, Bow north and Nose Creek MUP all ~3cm snow covered. East Village had sweeper crews out already. Snow is light and easy to ride through.

Interesting that Nose creek got gravel treatment after the ice/snow but super busy areas like Riverwalk and the Eau Claire pathways have not. Bad omen for this upcoming SNIC season... #yycbike

Also, if anyone from #yycbike can report on the condition of the pathway that goes down to the river by Shaganappi golf course it would be much appreciated. Will be riding down it early tomorrow morning, trying to determine if summer bike might be doable by tomorrow after today warms things up.

In personal #yycbike news, my ride in today put me over my yearly distance goal of 6000km. It's been a great year of riding. Looking forward to putting more km's on top of that.

#yycbike report (0530) Eau Claire, Riverwalk, Bow north and Nose creek a mix of about 60% icy and the rest bare. Really watch yourself of downhills and turns. Lots of ruts to some of the ice too, which can grab tires. Side roads slick, main roads looking pretty good now though.
