Politics is about power. Us Europeans can complain about being ignored until it's time to pay, but we did this to ourselves. If we want to be taken seriously, we need to be able to build & use tanks, rockets and drones. I wish the world worked differently but it doesn't

What I don't understand: every reasonable human being is complaining about the 28-point US-Kremlin plan. But I do not see plans on how Europe can support Ukraine and try its best to substitute the US.
I know that Europe can replace the US support in many fields, but at least we could try.

We need to stop calling it a ‘peace plan,’ even with sarcastic quotes around it. Call it the US-Kremlin plan or similar.
‘US-Kremlin plan’ shames the US and makes it sound deeply unappealing to the broader US and European publics.

Trump’s problem is that while he may truly want to end this war, and the cost to Ukraine is probably pretty irrelevant to him, Russia clearly does not want the war to end. Trump may think that he’s working with Putin, but Putin isn’t working with him.
