Any more and it will show, any less and you get a hard ridge from where it rolls over. This amount allows it to fold over nicely and more flat than if you made it smaller

I use hook and eye tape, but the bra back hook sets from Goldstar Tool are also good (and cheaper if you aren't making 473957 suits)

Whipped up a princess seam pattern minus the center front panels and added rectangles for the center flaps
The tails are lined in satin for extra cute
This is a cursed garment cut BTW lmao

You do NOT want to bag line a bunnysuit, believe me.
Pin and then sew bias tape close to the edge and trim any excess seam allowance
Flip it up and over
Hand sew on the other side so the bias doesn't show on the front
Leave a little tail at each end to tuck under

Here's me demonstrating why you should push your boobs up and into place if doing a duct tape pattern, or why you should do a mockup and fix that top of breast fullness

It's a tube of the same satin topstitched on

Seamripped the hem to reduce bulk, sewed it on, zigzagged the raw edge, topstitched it down

Still need to paint the pens red haha
It's two tubes of spandex, with one sewn on top as loops for the "needles"

When the zipper is in, finish the rest of the lining. Fold it over next to the zipper so you can hand finish it at that edge later.
Now to work on something else because I'm mad at the concept of bunnysuits

Make sure it goes from the very top to just above the back crotch extension, and stitch across the bottom to make sure it stays closed there

This would make the zipper insertion easier (also they used a lapped zipper), but makes side boning harder, so it's a tradeoff

I leave large seam allowance because it's easiest to do small size adjustments from there
Note that the lining is folded back and pinned as to not get in the way

I also like to have the boning channels on the inside for added smoothness. For even more smoothness in weird materials, fuse the fashion/strength layers with double sided fusible fleece

This makes the zipper easier
This technique is called a floating lining, and will be finished with a bias hem

Start with the fashion and strength layers. Match up the center front seam and do your best on the rest, working outward in half. Sew up the neckline and leglines, but leave the center back open
Yes, just slap it on top with a raw edge, it'll get covere

I like using cotton broadcloth because it's comfy against the skin. This is a very light pink caused by a laundry mishap lol
(The lining never shows so you can get fun with it)
