I get really irked when I see people post “indies will save us” or “the laid off devs should go indie” THERE IS NO MONEY publishers are cancelling contracts, angel investors/venture capital don’t want small returns. I think they mean hobbyists with a day job working doubletime & that is a rough ask

💥 BREAKING: At John Deere's annual shareholders meeting today, shareholders overwhelmingly rejected an anti-DEI proposal brought by the same group that targeted Costco and Apple. An anti-DEI proposal from the NCPPR received less than 1 percent of votes.

Feeling... rough. Lately.

When the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project launched in 1975, there was an informal competition to process the telemetry. American software and hardware took 30 minutes to crunch through the numbers. But the BESM 6, thanks to its multitasking abilities, finished the calculations in only 1 minute.
Four grey units form a semicircle. Up top, individual storage units form four compact "shelves" of data storage. Down below, four desks jutting out from the storage units provide keyboards, monitors, punch card hopper, and pre-video output devices; wooden shelves are propped up in front of each machine.
