No. They shouldn’t. That was the point of the vaccine. We eradicated the virus so children didn’t die.

This is probably the best quality of life improvement between the Netherlands and Albuquerque for me (tied with biking infrastructure and safety).
I think this is the first time I've lived walking distance from a grocery store and I'm out of my mind about it. I'll walk there several times a day. Oh did I forget to grab something? No big deal I'll simply Walk To The Store

My therapist suggested picking one upsetting thing to concentrate on and I’m going to concentrate on concentrating all my hatred for RFK Jr. into a powerful spell that will get him impeached. Or otherwise gotten rid of.

Children are not a “valuable resource” that belongs to “us,” they’re people. People aren’t worthwhile because of what they can contribute or accomplish. Autistic people obviously do pay taxes and play baseball. But even those who don’t are worthy.

Calling children “our most valuable resource” and singling out that autistic children “will never pay taxes” is SUPER revealing.

In a country that is now using concentration camps (by definition), you have to see the path from saying autistic children have been destroyed to killing autistic children (like the Nazis did).

Weird to see people act like RFK Jr’s statement “the MMR vaccine is the most effective way to prevent the spread of measles” is a good statement in any way. It leaves out the fact that it’s also safe *on purpose.* It’s a dog whistle statement, and a weaselly one.

I already had my hands full with all the things it’s my responsibility to teach my kid about. All the normal, expected things were plenty. It’s upsetting enough that they went and added sextortion to the list. Definitely could have done without being responsible for teaching them about AI too.

This book is so cool! It’s The Autistic Guide to Adventure by Allie Mason. I got it for my kid, but I see myself using it too.

This is a terrifying standpoint for someone with so much power to have. I mentioned several years ago that Elon Musk is like the guy in Doctor Who who helps the Cybermen because he thinks they’ll give him special treatment after they take over.
