I mentioned to my US Government teacher that I felt bad I haven't read as deeply about Frederick Douglas as some other historical figures so he brought this in today for me to borrow. It's only about 70 pages so I can probably blow through this over the weekend.

II is the more beloved album because its high points are really high and let's be honest, mostly because of the Nirvana covers. But overall, I believe this is the better quality album the songwriting is more mature and the musicianship is on point.

Iggy and James could have easily just tried to remake Raw Power's successful formula, but they don't. These songs are a lot closer to what Iggy was doing with Bowie, but with a harder punk edge and great guitar work and saxophones. Really excellent.

I always found AFI annoying when they'd come on Fuse as a kid, but to be honest as a 30 some year old who isn't afraid to be embarrassing, this album is a whole lot of fun, I really enjoyed it, goth as hell and super passionate and punky.

9/10 Cassadega by Bright Eyes
